On Saturday, November 25, 2023, the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI) was at the 8th Innovation and Technology Transfer Exhibition – Patras IQ. In the framework of the thematic section “Industrial PhDs for UPATRAS IQ – Investing in Applied Research and the importance of basic research,” HFRI’s Director Dr Katerina Kouravelou talked about the pivotal role of HFRI in funding basic research.

In her presentation, she referred to the Foundation’s funding activities implemented since 2016. Among other things, she stressed that in the 7 years of its existence, HFRI has published 23 Calls and has funded 1439 Doctoral Candidate Fellowships and 917 research projects. Finally, referring to the prospects of HFRI, Dr Kouravelou presented the future activities of the Foundation with the horizon of 2024, emphasizing the 3rd Call for HFRI Research Projects to support Faculty Members and Researchers.
