Gender Equality Plan

The Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI), recognizing the positive impact of gender equality in Research and Innovation (R&I), adopts and implements a Gender Equality Plan (GΕP), which will be a tool for shaping its culture and strengthening gender equality at all levels of the Foundation.

HFRI’s Scientific Council (SC) approved (Decision with Ref.no 82356/29.02.2024 of the 174th SC’s Meeting) the Gender Equality Plan (GEP), which seeks to integrate the gender dimension in the internal procedures and practices of the Foundation.

In particular, HFRI’s GEP focuses on the five-recommended by the European Commission thematic areas, adding one more (initial) step, which is necessary for the implementation of the Plan:

  •  assessment of the current situation in the Foundation
  • work-life balance and organizational culture
  • gender balance in leadership and decision-making
  • gender equality in personnel selection and career progression
  • integration of the gender dimension into research
  • measures against gender-based violence, including sexual harassment
