The submission of proposals under the emblematic action “Science and Society” – “Interventions to address the economic and social effects of the COVID-19 pandemic” was concluded on Monday, June 15th 2020. The academic and research community in the country responded promptly to the new, current, and emblematic H.F.R.I. action, whereby in the notably brief period between the Call being issued and its submission deadline, 216 proposals were submitted and distributed as follows according to Research sector:

Most proposals (86) were submitted under the “Society” section, an element indictive of the great need to research and study the effects and challenges arising due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Total public expenditure for this Call amounts to €1,500,000, with the possibility of an increase in case of supplemental public funding or/and private donations.
The objective of this Action is to help address the economic and social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and to develop economically viable technologies to aid in countering the relevant problems. In specific, this Action concerns development or/ and applications of technology/ know-how, related to the treatment of COVID-19 pandemic or/ and its effects (prevention, diagnosis, therapy, treatment of social and economic effects, etc.).
