Research funding plays a crucial role in advancing science. Through the initiatives of the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I.), researchers can carry out high-quality and excellence-driven research projects in Greece, strengthening both research and innovation.
In the video by the European Investment Bank (EIB), follow the journey of Dr. Artemios Oikonomou, a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics of the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos,” and discover the impact of research funding on his work.
His research project, titled “Mycenaean Vitreous Production: A novel interdisciplinary approach towards resolving critical taxonomy issues”, with a total budget of €96,878.00, was supported under HFRI’s 3rd Call for Postdoctoral Researchers Research Projects. The project focuses on studying the trade networks of ancient Greek civilizations, from the Bronze Age to the late Archaic and Roman periods, using methods from physics and material science.
