Press Release – New Year’s Pita Cutting at the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI)

The Deputy Minister of Development, Mr. Maximos Senetakis, offered the support of the Ministry for Development to the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI) during his presence at the New Year’s pita cutting of the Foundation.

The Deputy Minister highlighted the spirit of cooperation between the Ministry and HFRI to achieve the goals of funding basic research, he welcomed and wished a happy new year to all the personnel.

Rectors and Vice-Rectors of Greek Universities and Presidents of the country’s Research Institutions, the President of the Natural Environment and Climate Change Agency (NECCA), the General Director of the General Directorate for Financial Services of the Ministry for Development, the President and the Vice-President of the Association of Greek Researchers and officials of the Ministry for National Economy and Finance and the Ministry for Development attended the event held on Wednesday, January 24th, 2024, in the presence of the President and Members of the Scientific Council (SC), as well as the President and Members of the General Assembly of the Foundation.

Former and present colleagues as well as friends of HFRI also attended.

The Director of the Foundation, Dr. Katerina Kouravelou, in her brief welcome, referred to the very promising beginning of the new year, regarding the refunding of the Foundation, which signals the uninterrupted continuation of the support of the Greek Research and Academic Community. At the end, she thanked all those who consistently and in every way support the Foundation, especially the personnel, who are committed daily to implementing the objectives of HFRI.

Then, the President of HFRI’s SC, Professor Xeni Chryssochoou, welcomed the attendees, and after sending the warm wishes on behalf of all the Members of the SC for the new year, she assured that the Foundation will continue its mission to strengthen basic and high-quality research in the country.
