H.F.R.I. participates in Athens Science Festival 2022

For the first time, the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I.) will attend Athens Science Festival from October 21 till October 23, 2022 at the Technopolis City of Athens.

 

During the great celebration of science, H.F.R.I. will participate in the “Interactive Exhibition” section with three funded research projects.

 

Deciphering Climate Change

Under the Emblematic Action “Science and Society” – “Research, Innovation and Dissemination Hubs”, the EDU4Clima research project aims to promote the teaching of climate change through modern educational practices at the Research and Dissemination Hub at Finokalia, Lasithi in Crete. The festival’s visitors will have the opportunity to learn about climate change, calculate the energy footprint of their daily lives and through demonstration experiments acquire new skills and knowledge.

1821. One history. One experiential game.

Under the Emblematic Action “Science and Society” – “200 Years from the Greek Revolution”, the “BYRON” research project aims at an innovative approach to the Greek Revolution, highlighting the social forces that acted for its initiation and development. Four missions await visitors, in which they can gather interesting information and have fun, investigating what happened during one of the most important periods in the country’s history.

 

A virtual museum for 1821

Under the Emblematic Action “Science and Society” – “200 Years from the Greek Revolution”, the EPANASTASIS-1821 research project is addressed to the general public and aims with the use of innovative educational equipment, for the visitors of the festival to tour a virtual museum and see digital representations of historical exhibits of that time, accompanied by their scientific documentation, but above all to engage in educational experiences of multisensory interaction, based on virtual reality technologies (VR).

 

Athens Science Festival 2022 is organized by the educational organization “Science Communication – SciCo”, the British Council and the Technopolis City of Athens in collaboration with a number of academics, research bodies and educational organizations. The festival is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Development and Investments and the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation.
