Funding of 279 research projects with a budget of €62.5 million under the Call “Basic Research Financing (Horizontal support for all Sciences), National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Greece 2.0).”

he Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I.) announced the funding of 279 research projects with a total budget of 62.574.810,00 €, under the Call “Funding of Basic Research (Horizontal support of all Sciences). This Action is included in the projects of component 4.5, “Promotion of Research and Innovation,” within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0.”

It should be noted that the Action aims to support original research projects of high scientific quality and excellence within two distinct Sub-actions. More specifically, through Sub-action 1, 98 research projects are funded with a total budget of 16.144.743,00€, spanning the entire range of sciences, with Principal Investigators (PI) being Faculty Members, Researchers and Staff Research Scientists (S.R.S.) in an Academic or Research Institution in Greece, who are newly appointed or are currently undergoing an appointment procedure for a non-permanent position (on a term basis). Within the framework of Sub-action 2, 181 basic research projects will be implemented by Faculty Members and Researchers, with emphasis on interdisciplinarity, in leading-edge sectors. The total funding for these projects amounts to 46.430.067,00€.
