The proceedings of the International Conference “Monuments for World War II: Memory and Oblivion in the Balkans and Central-East Europe,” organized within the framework of the Project “War and Resistance Monuments in Greece” (WaRs), were published in Athens on 23-24 November, at the B. & M. Theocharakis Foundation for the Fine Arts & Music. The Conference was attended by experts from the Balkans, who explored the significance of World War II monuments and their role in the preservation of memory and history of the Balkans and Central Eastern Europe. Available in the proceedings are the speeches and presentations of the participants, as well as the welcome address of the Director of the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI) Dr. Aikaterini Kouravelou.

The Research Project was supported by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI) in the framework of the Action “2nd Call for HFRI Research Projects to Support Faculty Members and Researchers.”
