The 10^th GA meeting of the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI) took place on Wednesday, June 3rd 2020, with the participation of representatives from Universities and Research Centers in the country. The Meeting was attended by the Chairman and members of the Foundation’s Scientific Council (SC), the Director and Deputy Director, and the representative of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology to the SC of the Foundation.

The main topics addressed by the General Assembly were approving the selection of the new member to the SC for the scientific area of Life Sciences (Medicine and Health Sciences), Prof. Em. Charalambos Savakis, unanimously approved by GA members, and Foundation advancement.

GA members held extensive discussions on the course and track record of the foundation, addressing issues in regard to proposal evaluation and exchanging views with SC members, engaging in a particularly fruitful and constructive dialog.

Also, GA members unanimously decided, following the proposal put forward to the Foundation SC by GA Chairman Prof. Constantinos Charitidis, to institute a “Distinguished Researcher” award, in Memory of the late Dr. Theodore Papazoglou, Advisory Committee member and head to the support unit of the European Research Council (ERC).
