International Workshop on the Analysis-Synthesis of the singing voice in the framework of the funded research project “ASMA”

On 14 and 15 December 2022 the international workshop on “Analysis-Composition of Singing Voice” will take place at the Main Building of the University of Athens (Αmphitheater Drakopoulos).
The event is organized in the framework of the research project “Assistance for students in Singing and Music Aesthetics” (ASMA) by the Laboratory of Music Acoustics and Technology of the Department of Music Studies of the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens.
The Workshop involves leading scientists from the field of Singing Voice Science as well as distinguished Greek scientists in the field of voice from Medicine, Computer Science and Music Technology. The first session will present new methods and innovative tools for the investigation of vocal characteristics and the acoustic analysis, processing and synthesis of the singing voice with the help of new computer systems. The results of the ASMA research project on vocal instruction and interaction in the classroom and the social/aesthetic relevance of vocal training of students will be presented in the second session.
The research project is funded under the 1st Call for Research Projects EL.I.D.E.K. to support faculty members and researchers and to provide high-value research equipment.
